Dr. West brings her lifetime of experience to care for trauma and complicated general surgery patients. In addition to clinical care, Dr. West continues to be involved in national cooperative research projects to improve surgical care.
Dr. West’s special medical interests include:
- Care of patients with critical illness
- Trauma surgery
- Complex surgical infections
- Research on improving delivery of trauma care
- Service to LGBTQ+ patients

Dr. West enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, running, and especially skiing. She is a certified ski instructor and an accomplished alpine Masters ski racer. Dr. West is also a proud grandparent of 7 grandchildren.
