Pediatricians and family medicine providers both care for children. Pediatricians care only for children and teens, which some families prefer for a child with ongoing health needs. Family medicine providers see every age, so parents and kids can share one clinic and one doctor.

Pediatric services
- Sick visits. Same-week appointments for fevers, ear pain, sore throats, coughs, stomach bugs and minor injuries. We also have multiple urgent care locations for same-day visits.
- Preventive care. Routine immunizations, developmental and health screenings, and annual flu shots.
- Well-child checks. Regular checkups to track your child’s growth and development, keep vaccinations on schedule, and talk through sleep, nutrition and healthy habits.
- Newborn care. Care for feeding, weight gain, sleep and early development, including breastfeeding guidance during your baby’s first weeks.
- Sports and school physicals. Get your child ready for sports, school and other activities with a physical exam and completion of required forms.
- School and learning concerns. Support when your child is having challenges with attention, learning or behavior at school.
- Ongoing conditions. Care over time for chronic illnesses such as asthma or allergies, including medication management, from a team that knows your child’s history.

What ages does the pediatric team see?
Our pediatricians in Blaine and Maple Grove care for children from birth through age 18, with some providers seeing patients through age 22. Both clinics are accepting new patients.
How do I schedule my child’s first appointment?
Call 763-581-CARE any time, day or night, and a member of our team will help you set up a first visit. Let us know your child is new to the clinic so we can get them established with one of our pediatricians. You can also schedule online.

Call us at 763-581-CARE, and our team will guide you on where your child should be seen today. Our urgent care locations are open every day from 8am to 8pm and treat pediatric illnesses and injuries. If you’re not sure what kind of care your child needs, our nurse line is open 24/7 at 763-581-CARE, and for anything life threatening, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Can my child get vaccinations at the clinic?
Yes. Routine childhood immunizations are part of well-child care at North Memorial Health, and flu shots are available each flu season for patients 6 months and older. Vaccinations are available to established clinic patients. If your child is new to North Memorial Health, start by scheduling a new patient visit.
Do you offer sports and school physicals?
Yes. Sports and school physicals are offered at all of our primary care clinics. Bring any required school or sports forms to your visit so your provider can complete them. In Minnesota, students participating in school sports typically need a sports physical every three years. Check with your child’s school for specific requirements and deadlines.
Insurance and billing
What insurance does the clinic accept?
All North Memorial Health providers accept Aetna, Blue Cross, HealthPartners, Medica, Medical Assistance, Medicaid, Medicare, UCare and UnitedHealthcare. Because health insurance plan payments vary and benefit levels are unique to each plan, the surest way to know your out-of-pocket cost is to call the number on the back of your insurance card. Bring your child’s insurance card and your photo ID to the first visit.

How do I see my child’s records, test results and messages?
MyChart gives you online access to your child’s health information, including test results, appointments and messages with their care team. If you already use MyChart for your own care, you can access your child’s information from the same account. Learn more or access MyChart.
