Approach To Care
Dr. Mandy Nelson works with her patients and their families to personalize each child’s medical care. She brings together evidence-based medicine and the needs of her patients to identify what is best for each individual. She has a special interest in newborn care, especially NICU graduates, adolescent health, children with developmental differences, and complex care.
Dr. Nelson believes in graduated autonomy for her patients with slowly guiding independence as her patients get older with the assistance of their families. She strives to help everyone be as prepared as possible for each stage of life.

Personal
Dr. Nelson grew up in the Milwaukee area and went to college in La Crosse, WI. After graduating college, she lived in Saint Paul before starting medical school. She went to Birmingham, AL for her Pediatric training and to enjoy warmer winters. She stays true to her Wisconsin roots with her love of cheese, custard, and the Packers, but is proud to call Minnesota her home. Dr. Nelson loves cooking, reading, yoga, and going for hikes with her husband, son, and dog.
