Alaka Nagaraj, MD

Hospital Medicine
I value being compassionate and communicative in caring for my patients.

Approach To Care

Dr. Alaka Nagaraj believes that the key to having a successful and productive relationship with her patients is communication. She spends time with them and their families and strives to better understand their health and recovery goals. She sees this relationship as a partnership and values giving her medical expertise, yet, not forcing her decisions on the individuals under her care. Dr. Nagaraj encourages that patients and/or their families ask questions and actively participate in the medical decision-making process so that they feel well informed, comfortable, and confident in the care they are receiving.

Dr. Nagaraj strives to be supportive every step of the way of a person’s hospitalization, which can be a very emotional and difficult time for most people. She believes that patients and their families who are well supported, happy and confident during their hospital stay do better and heal faster.
