North Memorial Health CIO Brad Newton Wins 2023 ORBIE® Healthcare Award
Award recognizes leading technology executives
MinnesotaCIO named North Memorial Health Chief Information Officer (CIO) Brad Newton as a winner of the 2023 ORBIE® Awards in the Healthcare category. The ORBIE® Awards recognize chief information officers and chief information security officers who have demonstrated leadership and management effectiveness, business value created by technology innovation, and engagement in industry and community endeavors. Newton was recognized for this achievement at an awards ceremony at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center on September 15, 2023.
Newton’s strong leadership at North Memorial Health during the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to his selection for the award.
“Brad quickly earned hero status during the COVID-19 pandemic while helping our internal teams rapidly adopt modern collaboration technologies to increase productivity without sacrificing security,” said North Memorial Health Interim Chief Executive Officer Trevor Sawallish. “As the first health system in the state to receive COVID-19 vaccinations, Brad helped ensure we were prepared with the right technology and processes during this crucial time.”
Newton delivered significant advancements across North Memorial Health’s systems and processes, including deploying artificial intelligence-based predictive modeling to support patient care as the integral technology partner for our clinical teams, implementing mobile technology to save time and improve safety measures in IV medication administrations, and developing strategies related to staffing onboarding.
“Brad has led a significant shift in culture,” said Sawallish. “His team functions as consultants, partners, and implementers of technology-led solutions, allowing our team members to focus their time and attention on our patients.”
