Respiratory Care Student Internships

North Memorial's Respiratory Care Department offers Respiratory Care Student Interns opportunities to accelerate and expand their clinical experience in their second year of schooling. The following are tasks for interns to improve their skills:

  • Patient assessments for appropriateness of therapy
  • Obtain a better working knowledge of equipment
  • Preparation and delivery of medications
  • Improves communication skills with peers and patients
  • Patient education
  • Documentation and reporting
  • Oxygen therapy

This program is geared for the intern to learn and grow with North Memorial's Respiratory Care Department and staff. Our staff enjoys working with our interns and looks forward to continuing the working relationship after graduation as a staff therapist.

To be eligible, you must have completed your first year of an accredited Respiratory Care program that is contracted with North Memorial. Work is primarily basic therapy, with limited opportunities to participate in critical care and response teams. Hours are mainly evenings, weekends, and school breaks. Salary is $14.00/hour.
