North Memorial's Stroke Center offers many learning opportunities for stroke survivors, family members, health professionals and the community. Registration is required for many of our programs. To learn more about any of the following opportunities, or to register for a class, call (763) 520-5900.
Stroke Wise: An in-depth community stroke education course offered twice a year for stroke survivors and their care partners. This is a great chance to learn how to prevent and cope with stroke-related problems, learn about self-care strategies and develop a plan to stay healthy after stroke.
Healthy Weighs: A six-week nutrition and weight loss program that includes strategies for controlling food, eating well and feeling great. Learn to control food when eating out and make good choices at the grocery store. This course is offered three times a year (fall, winter, spring).
Stroke Education Guide: The education guide is a comprehensive written resource designed by North Memorial to help patients actively participate in your medical care. Patients receive the guide during their hospital stay to help keep them informed and promote the best possible healing during your stay through recovery at home.
