Key services include:
- Digital mammography - providing all women with optimal diagnostic imaging.
- High resolution breast ultrasound - gives patients same day access when needed and allows physicians to perform ultrasound guided biopsies.
- Image-guided breast biopsies - allow the radiologist to remove tissue samples for an accurate diagnosis. A biopsy is a small incision using pain medication at the affected area. This method reduces the need for oral medications and sedation.
- Stereotactic biopsy - a biopsy guided with mammographic images
- Ultrasound biopsy - a biopsy guided with ultrasound images
- MRI biopsy - a biopsy guided by MRI images
- Computer Aided Detection (CAD) - assists the radiologist in the interpretation of mammograms.
- Dedicated nurse navigator - helps navigate patients through the diagnostic treatment process.
The Outpatient Imaging Center on the North Memorial campus offers high resolution, contrast enhanced, breast MRI with computer-aided detection and analysis of breast disease. This technology may diagnose a breast cancer not detected by other means.
