Volunteer Opportunities
No matter where your talents and interests lie, chances are we have a special opportunity
waiting for you in many areas throughout our organization:
- Hospital and Clinic Services - Volunteers assist patients and families in areas such as our Cancer, Heart, and Stroke Centers and at our clinics. They help with patient check-in, discharge, assist hospital visitors, flower and mail delivery, assist in fundraising efforts, office work and more.
- Lifeline - Volunteers install Lifeline units (a 24-hour personal emergency response system) in a subscriber's home.
- Hospice - Volunteers help care for patients with limited life expectancies. They provide respite care for patients in their homes, support the staff at the hospital and at North Memorial's Residential Hospice, and give bereavement follow up to families after the death of a loved one.
- SafeJourney - Volunteer advocates visit with patients who are experiencing domestic abuse. They provide support, safety planning, information and referral to safe housing, legal remedies and other community services. Volunteers also facilitate weekly support groups and speak to audiences (youth and adults) on the issue of domestic violence.
