North Memorial Health Care

Programs Supported:

Campus Beautification Projects:

Starting with our employee campaign this year, philanthropic funds can be dedicated toward the goal of creating outdoor gathering space on the Robbinsdale campus. Relaxation, meditation and reflection space, along with a community garden, plaza area and labyrinth, will help give families, patients and staff an outdoor refuge to find peace regardless of faith, background or situation.

Cancer Services:

Funds support North Memorial’s comprehensive and specialized cancer programs. The Oncology Program Enhancement Fund is designated toward program enhancements such as the use of complimentary therapies or other patient-centered programs.

Clinic Experience:

Clinic improvements and services which enhance our patient’s experience.

Doug Hoppenrath Scholarship Fund:

This fund was created to provide scholarships to two high school seniors each year ($500 each) to be used toward post-secondary education in the fields of law enforcement, fire service or emergency medical services.

Trauma Services:

The dollars committed to this fund help support trauma services. North Memorial is among the select hospitals in the Upper Midwest operating a Trauma Center with Level I Trauma verification – the highest a trauma center can achieve.

Heart Center:

This fund was created to help support the North Memorial Heart & Vascular Institute, which leads the way in providing quality cardiovascular care in the timeliest manner. With the expertise of our highly qualified physicians serving a number of clinics through the northwest metro and beyond, your best choice for heart and vascular care is North Memorial.

Hope Chest Breast Center:

This fund helps support The Hope Chest Breast Center of North Memorial, a partnership between North Memorial and the Hope Chest for Breast Cancer, two organizations dedicated to breast health for women.

Hospice Care and Residence:

Gifts to the Hospice Care & Residence help support the incredible care and services provided by hospice program staff as well as grief counseling to families during this difficult time. North Memorial Hospice takes a “whole person” approach that focuses on the physical, emotional, relational and spiritual health of the patient and their loved ones.

Medical Transportation Fund:

This fund was created to help, maintain, enhance and improve the program by assisting with funding for attendance at industry educational seminars and education programs, education equipment such as CPR manikins, LUCAS CPR Devices and more – ensuring our responders can continue to provide amazing care and service to our patients.

North Memorial Employee Assistance Program:

Available for all system employees, this program was established to aid fellow employees (and immediate family members living at home) who have experienced life-changing events such as illness, death or natural disaster. To apply, simply complete the Employee Assistance Request Form and submit to the North Memorial Foundation.

Nursing Development:

For nurses seeking further education, nursing scholarships are available to qualified employees. The fund is also used for the annual Professional Achievement luncheon, Nurses Week activities, March of Dimes Nurse of the Year event, and quarterly Daisy Award.

Rehabilitation Services:

Dollars committed to this fund go toward supporting North Memorial’s comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology.

SafeJourney Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy Program:

SafeJourney was founded nearly 20 years ago with a mission of providing support, information and advocacy to individuals and families who do not feel safe in a relationship and empower them to implement a safety plan.

Stroke Center:

Fund was created for North Memorial’s nationally recognized stroke center. By offering access to some experimental/new and evolving treatments to our patients, the Stroke Center is able to increase recovery options. North Memorial is recognized by the American Stroke Association as a Target Stroke Honor Roll Hospital.
