Cardiac Rehabilitation

Our accredited cardiac rehabilitation program provides monitored exercise, education and support to those recovering from heart surgery, heart attack, angioplasty/stent placement and other heart conditions. A multidisciplinary team of registered nurses, cardiac exercise specialists and dieticians allows each patient’s treatment plan to be individualized to meet his/her specific goals and is overseen by a cardiologist.

We believe in a multi-faceted team approach. North Memorial’s Lifestyle Management/Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is led by a multidisciplinary team of registered nurses, dietitians and exercise physiologists, providing a well-rounded approach to your rehabilitation.

Ours is an accredited program. Our Lifestyle Management/Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is accredited by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).

At North Memorial, our Lifestyle Management/Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is geared for those with cardiovascular disease – and those who are at risk of developing heart disease – to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle.

A multidisciplinary team of registered nurses, dieticians and exercise physiologists provide expertise and guidance in risk-factor management, supervised exercise and support for individuals and families making lifestyle changes.

Lifestyle Management Services has a variety of exercise equipment available in a health club-type setting including:

Treadmills
Stationary bikes
Rowing machines
Elliptical machines
Hand and wall weights

Heart rate, blood pressure and EKG readings are monitored before, during and after each exercise session.

A referral from either your primary care physician and/or cardiologist is necessary to become a program participant. Preadmission exercise stress tests are recommended to help staff tailor the plan of care to your needs.
