North Memorial Medical Center has received Healthgrades 2013 Patient Safety Excellence Award™, according to Healthgrades, the leading online resource that helps consumers search, evaluate, compare and connect with physicians and hospitals.  The distinction places North Memorial within the top 5% of all hospitals for its excellent performance in safeguarding patients from serious, potentially preventable complications during their hospital stays.

It’s prom season. And in addition to picking out dresses and ordering tuxes, students from the northwest metro have been implementing an innovative campaign to get parents and teens talking about underage drinking. Bright pink signs with “T2T” on them are starting to pop up across the northwest suburbs. It’s all part of an effort, spearheaded by a North Memorial program called Partnership for Change, which focuses on preventing underage drinking and drug use.

In an effort to better meet the health needs of our community, North Memorial Medical Center is conducting a community health needs assessment. Your input will help us identify unmet health care needs in our community and help us better serve our surrounding neighborhoods.

On the heels of new hospital quality indicators released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), two local media outlets recently reported on Emergency Department wait times -- one of several metrics that CMS publishes on Medicare's Hospital Compare website.

North Memorial was recently designated as a Blue Distinction Center+ by Blue Cross and Blue Shield. The designation recognizes hospitals for their expertise in quality and cost efficiency in delivering specialty care.
