City of New Prague Approves Agreement with North Memorial Ambulance to Provide Emergency Medical Services

(Robbinsdale, MN - February 1, 2010) - North Memorial Health Care and the New Prague City Council have entered into an agreement to upgrade the city’s ambulance service from Basic Life Support (BLS) to a part-time Advanced Life Support (ALS) service. As part of the agreement, North Memorial Ambulance will provide emergency medical services to the city of New Prague beginning May 1, 2010. The agreement was finalized on January 19, 2010.

"We are pleased to upgrade our ambulance capabilities to ALS through North Memorial Ambulance," said W.A. ’Bink’ Bender, New Prague mayor. "Our community will benefit from this new level of medical transportation service." North Memorial Ambulance operates 22 ambulance sites, including those serving Faribault, Waseca, Kenyon, Redwood Falls and Marshall.

North Memorial Ambulance is one of the largest hospital-based ambulance services in the country, with operations in Minnesota and western Wisconsin that include 130 ground ambulances and five regional Air Care flight bases that service Minnesota and neighboring states. In total, North Memorial Ambulance serves an estimated population of nearly 800,000 people.
