Hartford Breast Cancer Bicycle Ride

The Hope Chest Breast Center of North Memorial is sponsoring a bicycle team to ride in Minnesota’s second annual Hartford Breast Cancer Ride. The two-day fundraising bicycle event takes place on August 1-2, 2009, and benefits breast cancer patients through Susan G. Komen, Minnesota Affiliate and Open Arms of Minnesota.

The ride begins in Bloomington and ends the first day in Red Wing (55 miles). This is a recreational ride, so there is no particular pace. Upon arrival in Red Wing, team members can choose to ride an additional 30 mile loop, or relax at the Treasure Island Resort and Casino. Riders can camp overnight in tents or rent a room at the casino. Good food and entertainment are provided in a camp area by the river. The bicycle ride returns to Bloomington the following day.

Dr. Virginia Dale, pathologist at North Memorial, is the Hope Chest Breast Center bicycle team lead. For more information, Dr. Dale can be reached at virginia.dale@northmemorial.com.

Register to ride with the team by going to www.breastcancerride.org or call (651) 209-8387.
