Dr. Keppel is a board certified family medicine physician with a special interest in mentoring medical students who indicate an interest in family medicine.

Dr. Keppel graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School after completing a PhD at the University of Lincoln, NE. Upon graduating from residency at the University of Minnesota, she spent five years in the United States Navy, completing her service as a Commander, in Charleston SC. She especially enjoyed her duty as director of residency training where she discovered her love of teaching. She is a member and fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. Dr. Keppel is married to Dr. David Schneider, also a Family Physician with NMMC. She holds a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She also loves knitting, sewing, and gourmet cooking.
