Dr. Kemp was born and raised in Montana. She earned her B.S. degree in chemistry/mathematics and became the 2004 national environmental engineer design champion for her work and design of sanitization and reduction of waste water in produce farming. She went on to complete her M.D. degree at Ross University with high honors. In addition, while in medical school, she was instrumental in creating the first PHR (physicians for human rights) chapter in Dominica, West Indies. Her general surgery training was completed at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Currently, she is a co-author for the largest robotic Nissen/hiatal hernia case series, as well as co-author for a book chapter related to robotic foregut surgery. She is interested in a broad base general surgery practice including laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures. In addition, she takes a special interest in endocrine, foregut, traumatic injuries and complex hernia surgery. 

Dr. Kemp is a member of the ACS (American College of Surgeons) as well as the AAES (American Association of Endocrine Surgeons). Her other interests include water sports, basketball, ping-pong, snowboarding, and wine making. She is also an avid Seattle Seahawks and Mariners fan.
