Through the University of Minnesota's Family Practice Resident Program we are able to help provide quality education for the physicians of tomorrow. In fact, U of M Family Practice residents spend almost all of their three years of training at North Memorial.
Past participants can attest that residents are well treated at North Memorial, and programs ensure that they are well rested and fit to carry out their duties. None of the residents at North Memorial exceed the newly enacted resident work hour guidelines, and all U of M Graduate Medical Education programs are ACGME accredited.
It's not just residents who benefit from the program. North Memorial's attending physicians are actively involved in teaching, helping to keep them at top performance. And our patients benefit by having young, well-trained physicians nearby to respond to unexpected problems and to promptly communicate with the patient's attending physician.
