North Memorial Ambulance Service has served the Douglas County, Minnesota area since 1996. Based in Alexandria, we provide ambulance service to all of Douglas County which is approximately 600 square miles. Douglas County Region is staff with two advanced life support (ALS) ambulances 24 hours a day. We respond to over 2000 requests for service each year and provide Special Care Interfacility Transportation for critically ill and injured patients to tertiary care facilities.
Our staff of more than 20 people is comprised of Specially Trained Paramedics and EMT’s. Our local ambulance fleet is comprised of five ambulances.
We're affiliated with and receive medical direction from North Memorial Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center in Minneapolis.
In addition to emergency medical care, we provide employment for local residents and support for area businesses. We recognize the importance of educating citizens about our services through outreach presentations and station tours for schools and the general public. We're proud of the strong working relationships we've developed with area public safety and first responder agencies and are proud to have provided many of them with EMS training and equipment donations.

North Memorial EMS Education offers one of the most expansive, successful training programs of its kind.

- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS - Initial and Refresher)
