Thomas Amatruda, MD

Thomas Amatruda, MD, is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Medical School. He completed his postdoctoral training in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco; hematology and medical oncology at the University of California, Los Angeles; and molecular biology at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.

Prior to joining the Humphrey Cancer Center, Dr. Amatruda was a member of the Medical Oncology section at the University of Minnesota, where his work focused on research of the molecular biology of cell signaling. He also served as the university's co-director of the Familial Cancer Program and the Melanoma Program.

Dr. Amatruda is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, and his clinical interests include the biology and treatment of malignant melanoma, treatment of thoracic malignancies, the genetics of familial cancer, and the development of therapies for cancer. He provides medical oncology care at the Fridley office and genetic counseling and treatment of melanoma at the Robbinsdale and Fridley offices. He also practices at the WestHealth clinic in Plymouth.

 

Jade Anderson, MD

Jade Anderson, MD, graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School. Following medical school he continued his medical education at the University of Minnesota where he completed his internship and residency and obtained his board certification in Internal Medicine. He completed his fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University of Minnesota. During his training, Dr. Anderson developed a strong interest in palliative care, specifically in the treatment of cancer pain. Dr. Anderson focused six months of his training within Cancer Pain Clinics. During that time he worked with locally and internationally recognized pain experts to develop his skills in treating the most difficult pain syndromes.

Joseph Cardamone, MD

Joseph Cardamone, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania-Philadelphia in 1963. He completed his undergraduate education in biology and philosophy with honors at the University of Scranton in his home state of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Cardamone completed his medical education with an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and a clinical hematology fellowship at the University of Utah and the University of Minnesota. He is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Cardamone is available for appointments at the Coon Rapids office.

 

Astrid Garino, MD

Astrid Garino, MD, is a graduate of the University of Turin, Turin, Italy. She completed her postdoctoral training in internal medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Garino is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Her clinical interests include the treatment of breast cancer and lymphomas.

David M. King, MD

David M. King, MD, completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado in Boulder and earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency and medical oncology fellowship at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

He is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. Dr. King is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research. His clinical interests include melanoma and genitor-urinary cancers (prostate, bladder and kidney cancers).

Tim G. Larson, MD

Prior to joining the practice in 1995, Tim G. Larson, MD, was at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, where he finished his fellowship training in hematology and oncology. Dr. Larson also completed his resident's training at the University of California Davis Medical Center. A northern California native, Dr. Larson received both a master's degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1987, and his medical degree in 1989 from the University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Larson graduated in 1984 from the University of California at Santa Cruz. He is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Noel Laudi, MD

Noel Laudi, MD, is a graduate of New Lyceum College in Msida, Malta with advanced level certificates in physics, chemistry, biology and philosopy. He received his medical degree from the University of Malta. He completed his internship in internal medicine at St. Lukes Hospital, G'Mangia, Malta, and his internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota. He completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

He is board certified in internal medicine.

Harold N. Londer, MD

Harold N. Londer, MD, studied psychology and chemistry at the University of Minnesota, receiving his bachelor's degree with honors. In 1973, he earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota. For his post-graduate medical training, Dr. Londer completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota Hospital. He served as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Public Health Services, and also as a clinical associate at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Londer is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

Stephen Mann, MD

Stephen Mann, MD, comes to the Twin Cities from Madison, where he completed a fellowship in oncology at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Mann received his undergraduate degree in history from Princeton University before enrolling at the University of Wisconsin to study medicine. He earned his medical degree in 1985, and completed an internship in internal medicine at the University's School of Medicine. Dr. Mann also worked as a research fellow at the University of California, San Diego, Cancer Center. He is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology.

Guari Nagargoje, MD

Guari Nagargoje, MD, was born and raised in Mumbai, India, a city of over 80 million residents located on India's central-western coast along the Arabian Sea.

Prior to moving to the United States, Dr. Nagargoje received her medical degree from the University of Bombay, where she also completed her internship and residency in internal medicine, as well as serving as a faculty member.

Dr. Nagargoje completed her second residency in internal medicine at St. Francis Hospital, Evanston, Illinois, an affiliate of the University of Illinois, and comes to the Twin Cities from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she completed her fellowship in hematology and oncology.

Dr. Nagargoje is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Medical Association. Her clinical interests include breast cancer and blood disorders.

Ross Siemers, MD

Ross Siemers, MD, received his bachelor's degree from St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. After graduating from the University of Minnesota Medical School, he completed residency training in internal medicine at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin. Following a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he served as a faculty member at the University of Iowa. His interests are in the clinical research of cancer and blood disorders. He is an active investigator in many clinical research studies. Dr. Siemers is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and is a member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Amy Stella, MD

Amy Stella, MD, is a 1998 graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Following medical school, she continued her education at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics where she completed her internship and residency in internal medicine. Dr. Stella served as a chief resident which allowed her to spend time teaching residents and medical students.

In 200, she completed her fellowship in medical oncology at the University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center. She developed a special interest in treating patients with breast and gastrointestinal cancers.

Rebecca Thomas, M.D.

After completing medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin and internal medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center, Dr. Rebecca Thomas headed east for her fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health. During her tenure at the NCI, she was chief fellow, received the ASCO Merit Award and earned a Master of Health Sciences in Clinical Research from Duke University.

Dr. Thomas' prior clinical positions include assistant professor of medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University and Senior Associate Consultant at the Mayo Clinic. She has published in major medical journals and maintains a strong interest in the field of colorectal cancer. She completed her internship and residency at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Her professional affiliations include: American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. A special area of interest is gastrointestinal malignancies.

 

Erin Lew, RN, CNP, MS

Erin Lew is a nurse practitioner at the Humphrey Cancer Center clinic in Fridley. She has an undergraduate degree in nursing from Valparaiso University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Michigan.

Prior to joining the staff at Humphrey Cancer Center, she worked in oncology/hematology at the University of Michigan. Erin is especially interested in breast cancer and issues related to cancer survivorship.

She provides urgent care, symptom management and routine follow-up care.

In her spare time, Erin enjoys traveling with her husband and reading.

 

Heather Penning, RN, CNP, MS

Heather Penning has an undergraduate degree in nursing from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Her first nursing job after college was on an oncology unit in Colorado. She fell in love with the specialty and has worked in oncology ever since.

She received her Masters in Oncology Nursing from the University of Minnesota and her Nurse Practitioner Certificate from the College of St. Catherine. She may look familiar because she has worked at Humphrey Cancer Center - Robbinsdale as Dr. Tim Larson's nurse for the last few years. She has a special interest in symptom management and the psychosocial coping that accompanies a cancer diagnosis.

She provides symptom management, urgent care and routine follow-up care to patients at the Robbinsdale and Wyoming Humphrey Cancer Center locations.
