Dr. Barve's special interests are women's health and obstetrics although she loves taking care of children and all family members. She believes in listening to patients, having all their questions answered and actively involving them in decision making. She strongly supports that health and well-being are the back bone of family medicine.

Dr. Barve completed her medical school training at the Padmashree Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College at the University of Bombay, India. She did her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Seth G. S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital in Bombay. She practiced for 3 years before moving to the United States. After the move, she chose to be a family medicine physician to better serve families and completed her residency in family medicine and community health at the North Memorial Medical Center through the University of Minnesota.

In her free time she loves being a mother of two lovely children and cooking and baking with them. Her hobbies are swimming, knitting, crocheting and quilting.
